Meeting House Restoration Campaign Announced

At our Annual Meeting, The Society of New Concord announced a matching grant from the Veillette-Nifosi Foundation to restore the badly deteriorated interior of our Meeting House [Former Dutch Reformed Church building].

The grant has allowed us to begin the extensive interior work. But we need to match the grant funds in order to complete the work.

To date the pews have been temporarily removed and stored, and the ceiling has been structurally repaired and painted. A crew of volunteers is scraping, priming and painting the walls and window frames.

Our further goal is to rewire the room with modern lighting, repair worn spots in the carpet, install a projection screen and update lighting and fan controls.

With the grant and community contributions, we can complete this ambitious project in time for Spring events.
