Encroaching Trees Removed from our Community Hall

Two mature maple trees—that had previously dropped limbs on our buildings—and one dead medium-sized elm tree—leaning precariously toward the Meeting House gable—were removed this week. This will make storm damage a lot less likely in future, and will also clear the way for our impending CH roof replacement.

Although our progress is slow in making our buildings habitable, we actually DO keep making improvements. Some of the advances (like removing these problem trees) are infrastructure upgrades—not so readily apparent to those who use our buildings.

Just since January 1, 2019 we have recharged the four fire extinguishers, and replaced backup batteries in all the emergency lighting fixtures, added facade lighting for the Meeting House, and put exit timers on the outdoor step lights of both buildings.
